Sullivan Field House Gets Underway – Parking Limited

LAPS News:

Starting Monday, Dec. 16, parking at Sullivan Field will be limited due to the start of construction of the Sullivan Field House.

Students are encouraged to utilize school buses, public transport or carpool with friends. Access to parking will be limited due to construction during the next nine months.

For safety reasons, please do not enter the fenced off area.

Los Alamos Public Schools appreciates everyone’s understanding while Sullivan Field receives this much needed construction. Read More

TOTH Hosts Christmas Open House Saturday Dec. 21

Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church is hosting its first Christmas Open House Saturday, Dec. 21. The church invites all community members to this festive event for all ages.
 
This free event includes sing-a-long Christmas carols performed 1:30-2 p.m. by the TOTH choir. The choir will sing well known Christmas carols and share some history behind the lyrics throughout the performance.
 
Refreshments and cookies are provided during the event. Kids will be able to make their own Christmas ornament and decorate sugar cookies.

New Study Shows Los Alamos County Residents Most Generous Givers In New Mexico

The holiday season is synonymous with spending money – but for more than just buying gifts.

According to Nonprofits Source, hundreds of millions of dollars are raised for charity on Giving Tuesday alone, which is just a fraction of the billions of dollars Americans donate each year.

In a recent study, financial technology company SmartAsset dug into IRS data to find the places where residents were giving the most. The study measured how much people donate as a percentage of their net income and the proportion of people in a given county who make charitable donations.

The annual Children’s Christmas Bazaar took place Saturday at Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church. Children in kindergarten through 6th grade shopped for family and friends on their own.
