Dixie Girl Creates New Pub Menu

New owner Victor M. Medina of the Dixie Girl Restaurant at 1789 Central Ave., has developed a new pub menu with weekly liquor specials. (See menu below)

Medina told the Los Alamos Daily Post this morning that the restaurant will be open late Friday and Saturday evening so people can treat their out of town guests to dinner and drinks.

The Los Alamos Elks in conjunction with the American Legion and VFW are sponsoring a Thanksgiving Dinner 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Elks Lodge, 1601 Trinity Dr., next to Sonic.

A traditional Thanksgiving meal will be served free of charge to anyone who would like to attend.

Ingredients:

Around 20 frozen dough dinner rolls, defrosted
10 pieces of bacon, fried until crispy and then crumbled
2-3 oz of melted butter
2 cloves of garlic, pressed and added to the butter
Italian Seasonings
Thyme
Good parmesan cheese, grated fine. (Optional)
Piece of aluminum foil to cover the pan during the last part of cooking.

Crowd Supports Troop 22 Activities

Sunday’s annual Boy Scout Troop 22 Turkey Roast  was held at the 50’s diner on Trinity Drive due to snow and ice conditions in the area. American Legion Post 90 offered the troop the use of the 50’s Diner for the event, which raises funds for the troop. NCRTD ‘Blue Buses’ Not in Service Nov. 28-29

The North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) has announced that the RTD “Blue Buses” will not be in service Thursday, Nov. 28 and Friday, Nov. 29 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.  Regularly scheduled bus service throughout north central New Mexico including Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, Santa Fe and Taos Counties will resume Monday, Dec. 2.
