Los Alamos Light Opera To Hold Auditions For Sister Act

The Los Alamos Light Opera (LALO) announces auditions for its March show, Sister Act! Based on the 1992 movie starring Whoopi Goldberg, this show follows aspiring singer Deloris Van Cartier as she witnesses a crime and goes into hiding in a convent. Hilarity (and music) ensue!
Auditions are 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15 and Sunday, Nov. 16 in Graves Hall of the United Church in Los Alamos at 2525 Canyon Road. Signs in the building will direct people where to go. LAHS Topper Marching Band Named 4A State Champions

The Los Alamos High School Topper Marching Band took top honors in 4A at the 2025 New Mexico State Marching Band Championships held over the weekend.

Their score of 68.3 overall in the finals bested marching bands from Lovington, Portales and Goddard. They also received the award for high musical achievement.

The band is under the direction of Steve Iliff. He is assisted by Zane Meek, Deanna Teague and Christine Subratie.
