Back for its sixth year, the highly anticipated Opera on the Rocks at Bandelier National Monument will take the audience on an extraordinary galactic trip this year, with the presentation of scenes from Mozart’s comic opera, The Abduction from the Seraglio, adapted to fit into a futuristic universe similar to that of Star Trek. JEMEZ SPRINGS—A new event in Jemez Springs is sure to stir up some enthusiasm over Labor Day weekend – the first ever Big Foot Barbecue and Blues Fest, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2.

The 2017 class of the SFO Apprentice Singers will return to entertain us at 8 p.m. Sunday. Twenty-four of this year’s 44 apprentices appeared at least once in last Sunday’s program. Twenty-eight will appear at least once this Sunday, and eight will have performed in both programs.
