In the run up to Joshua Bell’s performance here Feb. 3, the Los Alamos Concert Association is contending with a host of issues related to managing a sold-out house. Getting 944 people settled comfortably in the hall is a little trickier than you might imagine.

The most obvious issue is the limited parking adjacent to the Smith Auditorium. Scores of people will be coming from off the hill and many won’t have a clue about alternatives to the Smith lot. We are hoping that our local patrons will car pool and consider parking in the Sullivan Read More

UNMLA: Benefit Concert For Dr. Stidham April 19

Students Daniel Wierl and Kaylen Pocaterra are hosting a benefit concert in support of Dr. Zandree Stidham, diagnosed with Essential Thrombocythemia in 2010.
 
The concert is 4-7 p.m., in Building 2 at UNM-LA, April 19. In preparation for the concert, they are looking for musicians interested in playing. For more information, contact Kaylen at kpocaterra1@gmail.com.

Presenting a wide range of programs, from Beethoven to ballet, opera to jazz, chamber music to bagpipes, these concerts have been entertaining Los Alamos music lovers on their midday breaks since 1973. Brown Bag Performances connect performers to the community.

Joshua Bell Concert Sold Out – Patrons Urged To Carpool

Parking is expected to be a major issue when violin super-star Joshua Bell performs at 8 p.m.  Feb. 3 in the Smith Auditorium.  The concert is completely sold out so over 940 people will need to park and get into the hall during chilly weather.

Because the parking lot adjacent to the Smith Auditorium is not large enough to handle a sold-out house, the Los Alamos Concert Association strongly urges patrons to carpool.
