‘First Lady Of Cumbia’ La Yegros Performs Nov. 5

ALBUQUERQUE – Argentine singer, rapper and songwriter La Yegros will perform at the National Hispanic Cultural Center at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 in the Albuquerque Journal Theatre.

Tickets are $12, $17 and $22, with a $2 discount for students, seniors and NHCC members, and are available from the NHCC Box Office, at 505.724.4771, or at www.nhccnm.org.

The event, part of the Center’s New Latin Music Series and Festival Chispa, is presented in partnership with Avokado Artists.

Community Winds Presents 100th Concert

The Los Alamos Community Winds  will present its 100th concert at 7 p.m. Saturday at Crossroads Bible  Church.

“It’s really gratifying to be 16 years down the road with one fourth of the original members still with us,” Winds Musical and Artistic Director Ted Vivas said. “A special sense of community develops when people oplay music together.”

This concert features pianist Julian Chen, performing Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin.

Ullr Fest is a community event honoring Ullr, in hopes of bringing a good ski season to Pajarito Mountain this winter. The event includes a brewfest, two concerts, a downhill mountain bike race, a disc golf tournament, and a costume contest.
