We’re back for a fun-filled weekend. “Ha Ha,” you say. No, it’s the truth! Friday Sept, 14, we have an encore summer concert. LA MainStreet asked us to participate in their Next Big Idea: A Festival of Discovery, Invention & Innovation.

Here’s what we have: 7 p.m. Friday, we’ll be back at Ashley Pond for a concert with Stephanie Hatfield & Hot Mess plus Bill Palmer’s TV Killers, two excellent rock bands from Santa Fe.

Sept. 29 Fall Fiesta and Mozart on the Rocks: A Big Day at Bandelier

BANDELIER News:

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sept. 29, Bandelier National Monument is reviving the annual Fall Fiesta so visitors may enjoy Pueblo and Hispanic cultural demonstrations, games, traditional dancing and arts at the park.

The Fiesta was not held in 2011 due to recovery efforts from the Las Conchas Fire and subsequent flooding. This year’s theme is “Celebrating Nature through Art and Culture.”

Entry to Bandelier will be free that day, which is National Public Lands Day.

Atomic City Children’s Theater Holds Auditions

ATOMIC CITY CHILDREN’S THEATER News:

Atomic City Children’s Theater (ACCT), the Los Alamos Public Schools’ after-school theater program, is holding auditions for its Elementary School Production of Disney The Little Mermaid, Jr., a two-act musical play based on the hit Broadway musical and full-length movie of the same name.

Auditions will be 2-5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12.in the Barranca Mesa Elementary School gymnasium. Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. and the auditions are open to 5th or 6th grade students in the Los Alamos area.

Los Alamos Concert Association Begins New Season Sept. 23 with World-Class Violinist

The Los Alamos Concert Association kicks off its 2012-2013 season at 4 p.m. Sunday Sept. 23 with a concert featuring Rachel Barton Pine.

‘Mozart on the Rocks’ Opera at Bandelier on Sept. 29

FREE TO ALL! The Los Alamos Opera Guild (LAOG) The Guilds of The Santa Fe Opera, Inc. and Bandelier National Monument will co-host OPERA AT BANDELIER.

This September, Hannemann Music celebrates its 5th anniversary, carrying on the long tradition of home-based music stores in Los Alamos.

Owner Richard Hannemann is a professional musician who plays the guitar, mandolin and clarinet.

He graduated from Los Alamos High School in 1969 and gained his core musical knowledge through the Los Alamos Public Schools music program.

The Beatles were the most popular and influential rock band of the 20th Century. You can’t argue too much about that and I’m not going to argue that “… we all live in a yellow submarine.”

Sam Hagan Performs Wednesday at BESC

The Los Alamos Retired & Seniors Organization (LARSO) is hosting a wonderful lunch concert for seniors at noon Wednesday, Aug. 15 at the Betty Ehart Senior Center.
