Public Invited to Albuquerque & Four Corners Pipes and Drums ‘Practice’ Event July 25

The Albuquerque & Four Corners Pipes and Drums will present an outdoor “practice” from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 25 at Urban Park.

The band will play traditional and mystic music of the great Highland bagpipe and drum ensemble. The group first played in 1984 with pipers and drummers from two area bands; today band members are from Los Alamos and Santa Fe. The band is led by piper Anthony Puckett of Los Alamos;

LACA’s Artistic Director Discusses New Season at Tuesday Rotary Club Meeting at Dixie Girl

Artistic Director Ann McLaughlin of the Los Alamos Concert Association is the featured speaker at the Rotary Club noon lunch meeting Tuesday at the Dixie Girl Restaurant. 

McLaughlin will talk about the upcoming concert season, which begins at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23 at Duane Smith Auditorium, with Rachel Barton Pine, violin with Matthew Hagle, piano.

David Finckel, cello, Wu Han, piano and Philip Setzer, violin perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3.

Jeremy Denk, piano performs at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013.

One of my favorite concerts that we’ve produced during the last 25 years was the Austin country-rock-soul band, the Gourds at the Pajarito Ski Area 4 years ago.
