Taos School of Music’s Sunday Sit-Down concert is 4 p.m. today at St. James Episcopal Church in Taos.

The concert features a string quartet by Paul Hindemith. Hindemith, a prominent German composer, performer, pedagogue, and conductor, navigated challenging times during the 1930s in Germany, but ultimately his musical conviction made him a target of Nazi officials and he was forced to flee.

Los Alamos County To Host 4th Of July Spectacular

The 4th of July is this Thursday and Los Alamos County is ready for the event! The 4th of July Spectacular will be held 4-10 p.m. at Overlook Park in White Rock.

The day of entertainment begins at 4 p.m. with the Los Alamos Community Winds, who have been a staple of the 4th of July and feature many of the area’s best classically trained musicians. Then, the  afternoon gets going with music from DJ Optamystic.
