LACA News:

The internationally lauded Canellakis-Brown Duo – pianist Michael Stephen Brown and cellist Nicholas Canellakis – will be presented by the Los Alamos Concert Association (LACA) in recital at 3 p.m. MST Sunday, April 21 at the Duane Smith Auditorium, 1300 Diamond Dr.

This concert will feature an eclectic program of classic and rarely-heard chamber music repertoire as well as the Duo’s own compositions and arrangements.

Mike Stearns has done it all – disc jockey at radio stations, sports reporter and publisher at newspapers, a Naval religious programmer, Methodist minister and now karaoke business owner.

The SaxAtomix will be performing during the Betty Ehart Senior Center Open House starting at 5:45 p.m.  Thursday, March 28. Admission is free.

The program will feature music from the 30s through the 70s from Jazz & Latin to Rock & Roll.

The SaxAtomix are an amateur saxophone quintet comprised of players from the Los Alamos community. They have been performing together since 2017. The group includes Bryan Fearey, Wendy Keffeler, Adolfo Meana, Joyce Guzik and Paul Lewis.

SANTA FE — Santa Fe Pro Musica’s popular String Quartet Series concludes at 3 p.m. April 14 with the French ensemble Quatuor Ébène performing music by Mozart, Alfred Schnittke, and Grieg. 

Quatuor Ébène is named after the wood “ebony,” a component of string instruments that “resists time and is a symbol of exotic cultures” (former cellist Raphael Merlin).
