Not long ago, I drove to Colorado and Wyoming to visit family members I hadn’t seen in a few years. It was mostly a social visit, although I’ve been working on the family history and genealogy and wanted to gather more information.

Nella Domenici is in a pickle. As the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in New Mexico, Domenici has found it difficult to close the 9-to-10-point gap she has with the incumbent Democrat, U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich.

This election is the first time that individuals leaving correctional facilities can register and vote, even if they are on probation and parole. The law that allowed people who had served their time for felony convictions to vote had been on the books but was snared in bureaucracy until 2023.

DPU Earns National Customer Satisfaction Award

On Monday, the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) was presented a Public Power Customer Satisfaction Award for providing excellent service to Los Alamos County.

The recognition came from the American Public Power Association (APPA) at its annual conference in Louisville, Ky.

There are approximately 2,000 public power providers nationwide.

APPA presented the award to 20 utilities that received high marks from customers in:
