The Los Alamos National Laboratory Community Programs Office sponsors the holiday drive and all other giving initiatives. This year, Laboratory employees and subcontract personnel purchased nearly 1,000 gifts for Northern New Mexico children and seniors for distribution through 18 partner agencies as part of the Holiday Drive. Annual Carbon Dioxide Emissions in Los Alamos County, exclusive of LANL, from combustion of hydrocarbon fuels. Emissions from solid waste add the equivalent of another 20,000 tons per year. 
Exposed to intense ultraviolet light and high temperatures, samples of epoxy containing multiwalled carbon nanotubes deteriorated. Exposure tended to destroy the epoxy, but on the surface remained a network of nanotubes, which NIST tests indicated were less damaged than the epoxy over time, ranging from approximately 6 months (A) to 18 months (B) to 4 years (C) in subtropical conditions
