FREDERICK BRENDON WILLIAMS Oct. 23, 1932 – Feb. 17, 2018

Frederick Brendon Williams passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the age of 85.

He was born to Arthur and Annie Williams on October 23, 1932 in Washington DC.  He survived polio at age 13 then went on to serve in the army from 1951 to 1954 as a Staff Sergeant in Korea, earning four bronze stars by the age of 19.

Joe Ben Apodaca, born June 8^th 1923 in Santa Fe, NM passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 10^th, 2018. 

Joe was known to his friends as “Hosa” (The Bear). Joe grew up in Santa Fe and was the oldest of 12 kids born to Celestino and Guadalupita Apodaca. He began working at age 6 selling newspapers on the street corner in front of his Uncle Frank’s convenience store. He was an amazing athlete, and during his high school years he starred in Baseball, Football, and Track for both St. Michaels and Santa Fe High.

CORNETT PHILIP WOOD Feb. 6, 2018

On February 6th, 2018, Cornett Philip Wood died peacefully at home after many years of battling leukemia. His wife dutifully took care of him until he died, surrounded by family and friends. 

Phil is survived by his wife, Debby Wood; their daughter, Jessie Ross, their son, Austin Wood and Phil’s brother, Greg Wood. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Chris Ross and daughter-in-law, Natalie Wood. Five granddaughters called him their “Grandpa Goatie.”

DOROTHY REISE FOSS July 28,1923 – Feb. 16, 2018

Dorothy Foss was born July 28,1923 in San Francisco. Dorothy died peacefully on February 16, 2018 at 6:05pm, at the age of 94.

She is survived by her brother in San Francisco Ernst Reise and her children: Barbara Foote (Del), Bonny, Lawrence (Leslie), Deborah Pierce (Steve), Louisa Gilani, Erna, and Bertie Sorenson (Danny): her 15 grandchildren; and her 14 greatgrandchildren. Her newest great-grandchild, Georgia, followed her to heaven at 6:21pm that same day.

She was a lifelong resident of Los Alamos; the daughter of Kama Michel and John Fredrick Weinbrecht.

Eden was a dedicated employee of Los Alamos National Bank for 19 years where she was promoted to Marketing Coordinator. Homer Dick Lewis, 91, a resident of White Rock, passed away in his home on Saturday, February 3, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Margie Lewis, who passed in 2009.

Homer was born October 4, 1926 in Covington, Kentucky. He served in the United States Navy and then in the United States Air Force Reserve.

Homer and his family moved to Los Alamos in 1952 where he worked at LANL as a metallurgical engineer until his retirement in 1986; he then continued to consult for LANL until 1994.

Clo Loree Mingo, Ph.D. drew her last breath on January 18, 2018 at 12:28 p.m. With family and friends by her side, she was calm by the crackling fireplace in her home of over 50 years in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

David Carlson, age 73, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his Samoyed dogs and his wife and best friend of over 30 years, Mary.
