John Richard Lilley, Sr. died suddenly at home on January 24th, 2018.

He was born in Fall River, MA in 1934. In 1946, he moved with his family to Southern California, eventually landing in the San Diego area, where he graduated from Point Loma High School.

After receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from University of California, Berkeley, he moved in 1956 to Richmond, WA to work at Hanford. While there, he met and married Doris Wherry in 1957, with whom he had two children, John Jr. and Sherre. He also received his Master’s Degree in Physics

Louis Francis James Sandoval (Louie), age 56, passed away on January 28, 2018 after a strong and brief fight with cancer.

Louie was born in Santa Fe, NM on June 21, 1961 to Presiliano and Dora Sandoval.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Apolinar and Pablita Sandoval; maternal grandparents, Felimon and Anita Sandoval; brothers-in-law, Art Martinez and Edgar Lopez; and great niece, Abigail Dean Lopez.

Zachary Paul Keller of Los Alamos passed away on January 25, 2018 in Albuquerque. He succumbed to injuries from a car accident near Santa Clara Pueblo the previous evening. He was 29.

Mr. Keller was born on October 2, 1988 in Boulder, CO to his parents, Russell and Sandra Keller. He moved to Los Alamos in 2003, and graduated from Los Alamos High School in 2007. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Derek Sean Swanson on 1/24/2018 at 5:20pm after a several year battle with cancer. Derek passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in the comfort of his home in Wellington, CO.

Patricia M. Bequette passed away January 24, 2018. Pat was born in Santa Fe, NM to John and Ida (Marie) Peckumn. They moved to Los Alamos, New Mexico in 1949 where Pat attended Central School and graduated from Los Alamos High School in 1957.

Pat remained in Los Alamos raising her family and serving the community in many ways. She truly enjoyed being with kids and was a Brownie and Girl Scout troop leader, was a member of the Los Alamos Sheriff’s Posse, and volunteered with various other organizations throughout the community.

Epifanio J. Trujillo, Sr. (Eppie) 94, Los Alamos, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2018 at home with his wife and family by his side.

Eppie was born in Cebolla, on October 27, 1923 to Pedro and Juanita (Vargas) Trujillo y Chacon. He was inquisitive, never met a stranger, and would tease anyone who crossed his path.

ROBERT C. PETRIE Feb. 11, 1928 – Jan. 17, 2018

Robert C. Petrie was born on February 11th, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA to William and Hannah Petrie.

He served in the Air Force in Korea from 1950 to 1954 and went on to work at General Electric, later moving to Los Alamos, NM to work at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

In 1974 he married Kathleen Thorwaldsen (1920 to 2009) and leaves behind a son, Steve and a Daughter, Kathy.

Robert attended the Presbyterian Church of America in White Rock. He died peacefully in his home in White Rock on January 17th, 2018. A private burial will be held.

Darren Lee Jardine, 57, born in Los Alamos and a resident of El Guique, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 following a lengthy illness.

Darren was preceded in death by his grandparents, Patricio and Petrita Borrego and Leo Leroy Jardine and Vera Steaker.

Darren grew up and went to school in Los Alamos and loved to read. He worked in construction for a short time then joined the security force where he worked for over 33 years.

Sherry Lynn (Tuttle) Reninger, a longtime resident of Los Alamos, died peacefully in her sleep on January 11, 2018. She was 86 years old.

Sherry was born to Edmund and Blanche Tuttle in Cody, Wyoming on July 16, 1931. She grew up in Cody, going to school, spending time at her uncle’s ranch and working at the local soda counter with her twin sister Marian, making and serving malts and milkshakes.
