Dorothy Barteau “Dee” Wilson was born on May 29, 1926 in Potrerillos, Chile to Dorothy Powell and Harry C. Barteau. Her father Harry was Chief Comptroller there with Anaconda Copper. 

Dee spent her first seven years in Chile before she and her brother Sidney Brewster moved with the family to Scarsdale, NY. She graduated from Mt. Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA with a degree in Psychology, spending her junior year in Boulder, Colorado – her first taste of the west.

Tom Capelli, at age 85 peacefully passed away Sunday, January 10, 2018 at his son’s home.

He leaves two children, daughter Cindy Capelli, son Steve Capelli, children’s mother Jean Capelli and two grandchildren; Ryan and Nick Capelli and many close friends.

Tom was born in California in 1932 and moved to Los Alamos in 1968 with his family to work at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He worked at LANL as an engineer from 1968 until he retired and moved up to Chama, New Mexico.

JEAN C. JONES July 8, 1948 – Jan. 13, 2018

Jean C. Jones passed away on January 13th due to complications from ALS. She passed in her home, with family present.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Jones and survived by her two sons Glen and Robert, her three grandchildren, and her sister Susie Malone.

Jean was born in Los Angeles, California to Walter and Dorthy Langenberg. She was raised in North Hollywood where she married Kenneth Jones. She moved to Los Alamos in 1970, earned a bachelor’s degree from UNM, and ran an accounting business also in Los Alamos.

Patrick Joseph Beauparlant of Los Alamos passed away January 15, 2018. He was 19 years old.

Patrick was born October 19, 1998 on Long Island, New York. He moved to Vienna, Austria in 2004 and graduated from the Vienna International Primary School. He began his athletic career in little league and progressed to playing Rugby, which took him to tournaments all over Europe. June Pirtle, long time Los Alamos resident, left this earth to begin a new journey on January 14, 2018.

June and her husband, John moved to Los Alamos from East Texas in 1954. She was a grocery store checker for a short time prior to getting hired at the Los Alamos National Laboratory as a Data Administrator. She worked for the Lab until her retirement in the early 90’s.

June was a kind, soft-spoken soul who loved the Lord, her family and friends, and her church. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church for over 60 years.
