NMSP: Fatal Shooting Near Las Vegas, N.M.

ROMEROVILLE — May 15, 2023, the New Mexico State Police (NMSP) were dispatched to the area of Interstate 25 and Frontage Road 2137 in Romeroville near Las Vegas, N.M. in reference to a single vehicle crash.

Upon arrival, officers learned a female was seen fleeing the scene of the crash armed with a firearm. The female was later identified as Rosa Ybarra, 31, of Las Vegas, N.M.

When Ybarra was detained by arriving officers, she possessed a handgun.

Española – The New Mexico State Police (NMSP) is asking the public for assistance in locating Andrew Valdez, 37, of Española. He has not had contact with family since May 9, 2023, and he was last known to be in Los Alamos. He is 5’3” tall, weighs 145 lbs., with dark hair and brown eyes.

He has full-arm tattoos on both arms. One arm has a clock tattoo, and the other arm has a biohazard symbol tattoo. His clothing description is not known.

FBI: Zuni Man Pleads Guilty To Voluntary Manslaughter

ALBUQUERQUE — Alexander M.M. Uballez, United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico, and Raul Bujanda, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office, announced that Brian Wallace pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter.

Wallace, 44, of Zuni, New Mexico, and an enrolled member of the Zuni Pueblo, will remain in custody pending sentencing, which has not been scheduled.

ALBUQUERQUE – Alexander M.M. Uballez, United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico, and Raul Bujanda, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office, announced today that a federal jury returned a guilty verdict against Johnathon Bindues after less than three hours of deliberation.

The jury convicted Bindues, 31, of Los Lunas on one count each of coercion and enticement of a minor and production of child pornography. United States District Judge James O. Browning presided.
