ALBUQUERQUE — New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas has announced Thirteenth Judicial District Court Judge Christopher Perez was sentenced Davina Quintana to three years in the Department of Corrections.

Quintana pled guilty earlier this month to eleven counts involving shoplifting, conspiracy and aggravated assault in both Albuquerque and Rio Rancho.

“Organized retail crime has rapidly increased across New Mexico, and today’s sentence is a step in the right direction to stop these dangerous repeat offenders,” Balderas said.

ALBUQUERQUE — Alexander M.M. Uballez, United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico, announced that Darrell Desiderio was sentenced Dec. 16 to 25 years in prison.

Desiderio, 45, of Gallup, New Mexico, and an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, pleaded guilty July 26, 2021, to second degree murder in Indian Country.

Drug Enforcement Administration Seizes More Than 379 Million Deadly Doses Of Fentanyl In 2022

WASHINGTON, D.C. — As 2022 comes to an end, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is announcing the seizure of more than 50.6 million fentanyl-laced, fake prescription pills and more than 10,000 pounds of fentanyl powder this calendar year.

The DEA Laboratory estimates that these seizures represent more than 379 million potentially deadly doses of fentanyl.

FBI In New Mexico Warns Of Increase In Sextortion Reports

The FBI in New Mexico is warning parents and children about a significant increase in the number of sextortion reports during the past year.

From Jan. 1 to Dec. 19, 2022, the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center (NTOC) received 168 e-tips or calls about possible sextortion cases in New Mexico.

During the same period in 2021, NTOC received 38 e-tips or calls for New Mexico.

FBI: Zuni Man Sentenced To 10 Years In Prison For Assault And Firearms Offenses

ALBUQUERQUE — Alexander M.M. Uballez, United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico, announced Thursday that Martin Eriacho was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Eriacho, 52, of Zuni, New Mexico, and an enrolled member of the Zuni Pueblo, pleaded guilty Sept. 7 to assault with a dangerous weapon and brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.

LAPD Receives Tip Identifying Package Thief

The Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) Criminal Investigations Section obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect in a recent theft of a package from the porch of a Los Alamos residence.

Due to a tip from Wednesday’s press release, LAPD Detectives obtained a “no bond” arrest warrant from Los Alamos Municipal Court for 36-year-old Steven Thoren.

The charge is for Larceny. Thoren also has not checked in with his probation officer and has a last known address in Rio Rancho.
