LAS VEGAS, N.M. The New Mexico State Police is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who robbed the Giant gas station on Saturday, March 26 in Romeroville, just south of Las Vegas, N.M.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately six feet tall, weighing approximately200 pounds, and 25 to 35 years old.

FBI Seeks Suspect In Officer-Involved Shooting

The FBI and the Laguna Police Department (LPD) are searching for a suspect related to an officer-involved shooting that occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m., Thursday in the area of the Route 66 Casino on the Pueblo of Laguna.
 
An LPD officer investigating a vehicle that was reported stolen was shot but is expected to recover. A male suspect was shot and killed.

Safety Town is returning to Mountain Elementary School 9 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday, June 13-24.

This free safety program is open to all children entering Kindergarten in the Fall or who will be five years of age by Sept. 1. News Alert: Police Caution Community To Increase In Vehicle Theft And Auto Burglaries

LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department has seen an increase in motor vehicle thefts and automobile burglaries in the past few weeks. 

Five cases of motor vehicle theft/embezzlement have been reported thus far in 2016, three of which occurred in the last two weeks. All of these stolen vehicles have been recovered.

Seven auto-burglaries/breaking and entering cases also have been reported in 2016, three of which were reported in the last seven days. These case have occurred in both Los Alamos and White Rock.

Los Alamos Police Address Death Of Cmdr. Scott Mills

The Los Alamos Police Department issued a statement today after the death of former LAPD Cmdr. Scott Mills in a crash Monday in Colorado.

“The Los Alamos Police Department extends our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Scott Mills,” Chief Dino Sgambellone said.

Cmdr. Mills, 51, was a veteran who served in the United States Air Force. He joined the LAPD on Nov. 30, 1998. During his police career, Cmdr. Mills served as an officer, corporal, sergeant, lieutenant and operations commander. He also served as a member of the Los Alamos Bomb Squad.

Former Los Alamos Police Cmdr. Scott Mills has died after being struck by a truck in an off-duty crash.

Mills, 51, was a police sergeant for the Ouray Police Department in southwestern Colorado. He was driving his motorcycle when a truck struck and killed him on U.S. 550 between Ouray and Ridgway, according to reports by the Colorado Division of Homeland Security & Emergency Management.

The state patrol reports that Mills was traveling eastbound on U.S. 550 and slowed to make a left turn when he was hit from behind by a 2003 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck.  The 78-year-old Read More
