Public Invited To 2nd Coffee With A Cop Oct. 28

LAPD News:

On Oct. 28, officers from the Los Alamos County Police Department and community members will come together in an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships and drink coffee. 

This marks the second time the Los Alamos Police Department will conduct the Coffee with a Cop since June 2015.

Suspect Pleads Guilty To Theft At Los Alamos Historical Museum

William Ryan Skelton turned himself in over the weekend following a news release issued Oct. 1 by Los Alamos police asking the public’s assistance to locate him.

Skelton, 30, was suspected of robbing a cash box at the Los Alamos Historical Museum Sept. 25 and damaging property near Bathtub Row in Los Alamos. He faced Judge Pat Casados Monday in Magistrate Court and pleaded guilty to larceny and criminal damage to property.

Los Alamos Police Collect 312 Pounds Of Old Prescriptions During Saturday’s Drug Take Back Day

LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department collected 312 pounds of unwanted and unused prescriptions during Saturday’s drug take back day.

The total collection amount was from drop offs made to the LAPD drug box located in the police station lobby at the Judicial Complex and the two collection sites in Los Alamos and White Rock.

Police Seek Public’s Assistance To Locate Suspect In Friday’s Theft At Los Alamos Historical Museum

The Los Alamos Police Department has issued an arrest warrant for the person believed to be responsible for Friday’s incident at the Los Alamos Historical Museum. 

William Ryan Skelton, 30, is wanted on charges of larceny and criminal damage to property near Bathtub Row in Los Alamos.

The suspect was last seen driving a blue 1994 single cab Toyota truck with New Mexico plate NGM286.

Police are asking citizens to call Crimestoppers at 505.662.8282 with information on this case or to report the whereabouts of Skelton.

Atomic City Transit Bus And Pickup Collide On NM 4

An Atomic City Transit (ACT) “Dial a Ride” bus was involved in an accident at about 6:40 a.m. today on N.M. 4 near White Rock. The bus was carrying two passengers and no injuries were reported, however the driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash was transported to Los Alamos Medical Center with unknown injuries. A County spokesperson said that the ACT bus driver took evasive action to avoid a near head on collision with the pickup. The shoulder was soft and the bus rolled onto its side.
