FBI: Canoncito Man Sentenced For Role In Fatal Assault

ALBUQUERQUE — A Canoncito man was sentenced to three years’ probation for his role in the violent 2022 assault that led to the death of John Doe.

There is no parole in the federal system.

According to court documents, May 27, 2022, Landen Toledo, 21, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, along with Cole Ray Shorty, confronted John Doe at his residence to retrieve Shorty’s backpack. LAPD To Launch Youth Cadet Program In August 2025!

LAPD News:

The inaugural launch of the Los Alamos Police Department’s (LAPD) Youth Cadet Program is coming in August 2025! This program is for high school freshmen through senior grade levels. It will be held 5-8 p.m. once a month, August through April.

Participating young adults will learn about de-escalation, laws and application, public safety interactions, public speaking, public safety history, and career opportunities.

ALBUQUERQUE — A Mescalero man was sentenced to 48 months in prison for sexually assaulting a teen 20 years his junior.

According to court documents, Sept. 27, 2024, Thomas Lee Chaffins, 35, an enrolled member of Mescalero Apache Tribe, sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl on the Mescalero Apache Indian Reservation

FBI: Dulce Man Indicted For Federal Assault Resulting In Serious Bodily Injury .. If Convicted Faces 10 Years In Prison

ALBUQUERQUE — A Dulce man has been charged by indictment with assault following an alleged incident that left the victim with severe injuries.

According to court documents, Feb. 1, 2025, James William Julian, 25, an enrolled member of the Jicarilla Apache Nation, assaulted and seriously injured John Doe.

Julian is charged with assault resulting in serious bodily injury and will remain in custody pending trial, which has not been set. If convicted, Julian faces up to 10 years in prison.
