ALBUQUERQUE — New Mexico State Police (NMSP) responded to a critical incident at approximately 2:14 a.m. May 13, 2024, highlighting the dangers of impaired driving.

Officers were westbound on Interstate 40 near mile marker 155 when they encountered debris on the roadway. Their quick response led them to the discovery of a serious collision involving a 2014 white Subaru Impreza and a 2007 orange Chevrolet Corvette.

FBI: Rio Rancho Man Arrested For Shooting At Vehicle

NMSP News:

ALBUQUERQUE – At around 7:15 a.m. on May 13, a New Mexico State Police (NMSP) officer was on patrol on Paseo Del Norte, traveling east near 2nd Street. The officer saw a Nissan Pathfinder pull up to the passenger side of a Toyota 4-Runner, both were also traveling east on Paseo Del Norte.

The driver of the Nissan, later identified as Paul Marquez, 22, of Rio Rancho, pointed a handgun out the driver-side window and fired three shots into the passenger side of the Toyota.

FBI: Shiprock Woman Sentenced For Drunk Driving Crash That Killed Her Young Granddaughter

ALBUQUERQUE — A Shiprock woman was sentenced to five years in prison for a tragic rollover accident in Shiprock, New Mexico which resulted in the death of her young granddaughter and serious injuries to another.

There is no parole in the federal system.

According to court documents, July 1, 2021, Evelyn Bustamante, 60, drove her grandchildren from Shiprock and Farmington. Neither of the children were properly restrained in seatbelts or car seats.
