Los Lunas Man Who Shot New Mexico State Police Officer Pleads Guilty To Federal Firearms Offense

ALBUQUERQUE — Alexander M.M. Uballez, United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico, and Raul Bujanda, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office, announced Tuesday that Caleb Elledge pled guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Elledge, 26, of Los Lunas, will remain in custody pending sentencing, which has not been scheduled.

State Police CVE Strike Team Conducts Operation In Clayton

NMSP News:

CLAYTON — Feb. 10 through Feb. 18, 2024, the New Mexico State Police (NMSP) Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) Strike Team conducted an operation in Clayton to enhance public safety.

Over the course of the nine-day operation, 27 level 1 inspections were conducted, 248 level 2 inspections were conducted, and 91 level 3 inspections were conducted.

Officers issued a total of 243 citations.

Officers inspected the CMV’s to make sure it is in compliance and in safe operating condition, as well as the drivers’ paperwork and documents to ensure they were correct and current.

FBI: Nigerian National Pleads Guilty To Fraud Charges

ALBUQUERQUE — Alexander M.M. Uballez, United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico, and Raul Bujanda, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office, announced Wednesday that Uchenna Christian Nlemchi pleaded guilty in Federal Court to one count each of wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

Nlemchi, 31, a Nigerian national, will remain in custody pending sentencing, which has not been scheduled.

New Mexico State Police In District 3 Arrest 13 Individuals

New Mexico State Police (NMSP) officers arrested 13 individuals over the course of five days.

So far, the month of February for State Police officers stationed in Roswell, Hobbs and Carlsbad has produced a number of arrests. Officers were proactive in locating individuals with active warrants while ensuring the motoring public followed traffic laws.

NMSP Statewide Traffic Operation Focused On Keeping New Mexico Roads Safe For Motoring Public

The New Mexico State Police (NMSP) on Thursday conducted a statewide traffic operation. The five-hour operation focused on speeding and unsafe driving practices on roadways across the state.

The operation yielded:

  • 700 Traffic Citations;
  • 50 CMV Inspections;
  • 19 Arrests including 5 Felonies; and
  • 3 CMV Left Lane Citations.

New Mexico State Police In District 3 Make 11 Arrests

NMSP News:

ROSWELL, HOBBS, CARLSBAD — New Mexico State Police (NMSP)  officers arrested 11 individuals between Feb. 10 and Feb. 15, 2024.

NMSP officers stationed in Roswell, Hobbs and Carlsbad continue to make high volumes of arrests in these areas.

Officers were able to arrest 11 subjects on a variety of offenses.

Many of these arrests continue to occur by officers being proactive on the roadways and locating individuals with active warrants.
