New Mexico State Police Arrests 20 Impaired Drivers

ALBUQUERQUE — As part of continuing operations in the Albuquerque area, New Mexico State Police (NMSP) officers arrested 20 suspected impaired drivers Feb. 8-10. The increased enforcement efforts to ensure public safety on the roads have yielded commendable results.

During the weekend, NMSP officers made 95 traffic stops within the Metro area. Through vigilant enforcement measures, officers issued 48 traffic citations, reinforcing the importance of adherence to traffic laws for the safety of all road users.

Gun safety advocates won a narrow victory late Tuesday when the House of Representatives voted 35-34 in favor of a bill prohibiting firearms within 100 feet of a polling site.

ROSWELL, HOBBS, CARLSBAD — New Mexico State Police (NMSP)  officers arrested 10 individuals between Feb. 6-9, 2024.

NMSP officers stationed in Roswell, Hobbs and Carlsbad arrested 10 individuals. Most of these arrests were made from officers being proactive and conducting high volume traffic stops.

FBI: Santa Fe Felon Gets 48 Months For Firearms Offense

ALBUQUERQUE — Alexander M.M. Uballez, United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico, and Raul Bujanda, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office, announced today that Gilbert Michael Coriz was sentenced to 48 months in prison.

People Impacted By Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Fire Highly Encouraged To File Claim For Flood Insurance By March 1, 2024

SANTA FE — People impacted by the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Fire are highly encouraged to submit claims for flood insurance by March 1 and no later than April 1.

There is a 30-day mandatory waiting period for all new National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) policies. Submitting a claim for flood insurance coverage by March 1 will help ensure coverage goes into effect before snowmelt and monsoon season begin.
