Brennan helps the National Park Service celebrate its 100th anniversary with the dedication of the pane of 16 National Parks Forever stamps .The first-day-of-issue ceremony took place in New York City at the World Stamp Show-NY 2016 – which is the world’s largest stamp show and is only held once a decade in the United States. JEMEZ SPRINGS — Valles Caldera National Preserve, in partnership with Los Amigos de Valles Caldera and the New Mexico Wildlife Federation, is celebrating the National Park Service centennial anniversary with free entry from Aug. 25-28 and a special event 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27.

Visitors on Saturday can participate in the preserve’s “BioBlitz” where citizen-scientists of all ages can help the NPS discover and document the plants and animals that call the preserve home.

Annual Car Show At Smith’s Marketplace Saturday

The Los Alamos Auto Club presents the 2nd annual Car Show Saturday at Smith’s Marketplace.

Corvettes, hot rods, muscle cars, classics, exotics, motorcycles and general car enthusiast are invited to participate at the new Smith’s Marketplace to show off their unique rides.

Staging cars begin at 8 a.m., the Car Show runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a raffle for all Car Show participants.

Local EAA Chapter 6 has postponed its annual Young Eagles event scheduled for Saturday at Los Alamos County Airport.

The event will be rescheduled for sometime in April.
