History Adventures is an 8-week kids program of hands-on activities about local history sponsored by the Los Alamos Historical Society.
 
Starting June 2 and going through July 21, activities are repeated at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. every Tuesday morning on the lawn of Fuller Lodge. Activities are aimed at children in grades K–3, but are open to everyone! History Adventures is free and no registration is required.

Join the Los Alamos Mountaineers for an exciting presentation by Larry Hersman, a Los Alamos native and sailor.

Social time and reports of recent and upcoming trips begin at 7 p.m. The program begins at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 17 at Fuller Lodge in downtown Los Alamos.

Community Soccer Field Temporary Closure June 8

The Community Soccer Field at 1670 Nector St., will be closed for Irrigation and Turf renovations beginning June 8.

This project is expected to take two months and is scheduled for completion Aug. 7. 

The Tot Lot will be fenced off and accessible to the public from Peach Street.

YMCA Fencing Program Begins Tuesday

Beginning Tuesday, June 2, the YMCA Fencing program will operate on a summer schedule.

Fencing will begin at 7 p.m. and run for approximately an hour. It will mostly be open bouting, with some individual instruction being given on request. There will be no group lessons or drills.

Fencers from the Spring Beginning Class, plus advanced fencers are invited to join. Summer students with some fencing experience are welcome to participate. The weekly Pace Race was very competitive Tuesday night on the Canada del Buey trail in White Rock.
 
Jayson Jones was the best predictor on the one mile course with an adjusted error of 3.15 seconds. Second was Tamryn Jones with a prediction adjusted error of 4.26 seconds followed by Jackie Peckham with an adjusted error of 5.7 seconds.
