Earlier this year, Bandelier National Monument announced an opportunity for artists to participate in this year’s Artist in Residence Program at the park.
The deadline to apply is June 1, which is approaching rapidly. Artists may be in the fields of writing, composing, performing (storytellers, dancers, etc.), visual (photographing, sculpting, painting, etc) or multi-disciplinary. There is no application

SANTA FE – The 1.6 million acres of public land in the Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) offer multiple recreational opportunities to visitors.
Developed sites for camping and picnicking are among the most popular, offering scenic vistas, access to fishing and hiking, and perhaps even a little peace and quiet. Forest visitors are asked to follow campfire safety guidelines and adhere to the Leave No Trace principles of outdoor ethics.

Unknown to many is that there are a number of beautiful waterfalls in New Mexico, and Doug Scott is the expert on the topic.
Scott will be offering a tour of waterfalls through PEEC on Saturday, May 16 for a small group limited to 10 people. The group will meet at the Los Alamos Nature Center at 7:30 a.m. and will return around 5 p.m. Scott will introduce tour participants to his secret access passages and vantage points for eight beautiful waterfalls within a two-mile radius in the San Pedro Parks Wilderness.
