East Park Pool opens for the summer season Saturday, May 23. Guests are invited to try out the facility free Monday, May 25, and the snack bar will be open for lunch.
 
Located at 111 East Road, East Park Pool has two diving boards, a slide and a wading pool. A fence separates the water from the seating area, and there are covered and open decks.
 
Three sessions of swim lessons as well as AquaZumba and water aerobics classes are available.

SANTA FE – The 1.6 million acres of public land in the Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) offer multiple recreational opportunities to visitors.

Roxana Candia Is Top Predictor In This Week’s Pace Race

ACRR News:
 
Roxana Candia was the top predictor for the weekly pace race held on the trail to Canada Bonita up by the Ski Hill with a 4 second differential. 
 
She was followed by Inez Ross and Joan Williams who were both 9 seconds off their predicted time.
 
Brother and sister Billy, 6, and Savanna, 7, Strothers were the top finishers in the 1 mile course with 11:49 and 11:57 times recorded respectively.
 
On the 2 mile course, Tamara Jurado was the fastest female at 26:03 and Jayson Jones, 8,  was the first male with a time of 27:08.

Take A Day Hike With Expert Doug Scott And Discover Hidden Waterfalls

Unknown to many is that there are a number of beautiful waterfalls in New Mexico, and Doug Scott is the expert on the topic.

Scott will be offering a tour of waterfalls through PEEC on Saturday, May 16 for a small group limited to 10 people. The group will meet at the Los Alamos Nature Center at 7:30 a.m. and will return around 5 p.m. Scott will introduce tour participants to his secret access passages and vantage points for eight beautiful waterfalls within a two-mile radius in the San Pedro Parks Wilderness.
