Topper Soccer Closes Out Season W/ 13-6-2 Overall Record

The Topper boys’ soccer team closed out their season with a record of 6-0 in district and 13-6-2 overall. They played the Santa Teresa Desert Warriors in a Quarter Final State playoff match Saturday on Sullivan Field. The match ended in a 1-1 tie, and two overtime matches were played ending in a 1-1 tie so a shootout was played ending in a 4-5 loss for the Toppers. The kokanee salmon snagging season opens Saturday (Nov. 11) at Heron Lake State Park. Back in the 1980’s and 1990’s snagging season became a social event. Anglers would mark their calendars. Crowds of them would li e the shores of the lake trying to impale the salmon with big treble hooks. The daily limit on salmon was generously increased to 12-per-day.

The Los Alamos High School Hilltoppers hosted the Highland Hornets Friday night for the first round of the State Tournament at Sullivan Field.

The Toppers dominated the Hornets with relentless defense and strong offense. The final score was 55-13 in favor of the Toppers.
