Hilltopper Cross Country Girls Win Big In Competitive Colorado Meet – Boys Place 5th

The Los Alamos High School Hilltopper Varsity Girls Cross Country team notched a big win on Friday at the Pat Amato Invitational in Northglenn, Colorado. Their score of 70 points bested a competitive field of 23 teams, including 2nd place Fossil Ridge (78 points), a team that last year placed #8 at Nike’s de facto high school national championship.

Geimer Top Predictor In Final Pace Race Of 2025 Season

Paul Geimer was the best predictor in Atomic City Road Runner’s (ACRR) final pace race of the 51st season held Tuesday on the Canyon Rim Trail. He was 21 seconds off his predicted time as well as the first finisher on the 3-mile course at 18:39.

Kokanee salmon snagging season opens Wednesday at Navajo Lake, El Vado Lake and Eagle Nest Lake.

Kokanee are a landlocked species of sockeye salmon that spend their entire lives in freshwater and do not migrate to the ocean. Like other species of Pacific salmon, they live for 3-4 years, then spawn. After spawning, they die. 

In order to make use of the salmon, a special snagging season is established to allow anglers a chance to harvest the fish before they die using nontraditional methods. The most common way of catching them is by snagging. Read More

The Los Alamos High School girls soccer program recently teamed up with the Los Alamos Youth Soccer League girls teams for a special day of soccer, fun, and connection. Hilltopper players led sessions with the younger athletes, sharing skills, encouragement, and plenty of smiles.

Durango Named Host City For 2030 Union Cycliste Internationale Mountain Bike World Championships

DURANGO — The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) has announced that Durango, Colo., will be the host city of the 2030 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships.

The event marks the 40th anniversary of when the town of Durango and Purgatory Resort hosted the very first UCI mountain bike world championship races in 1990.
