State Wildlife Action Plan Open For Public Comment

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish (Department) is releasing the draft 2025 State Wildlife Action Plan for New Mexico (SWAP) for public comment. The comprehensive, federally mandated 10-year review and revision of the SWAP began in May, 2023, and presentations were made at the State Game Commission meetings on Aug. 25, 2023, and Aug. 9, 2024

The SWAP identifies Species of Greatest Conservation Need (SGCN), their habitats, threats to SGCN and their habitats and conservation actions that can be taken to mitigate these threats and benefit SGCN and their habitats. Read More

Los Alamos Girls Competitive Soccer Tryouts Begin May 15

LAYSL News:

The Los Alamos Youth Soccer League (LAYSL) Girls Competitive Program would like to invite all girls interested in playing competitive soccer in Fall 2025/Spring 2026 to participate in the upcoming tryouts.

All tryouts are 5-6:30 p.m.

  • Thursday May 15: Western Area Field – U11 (2015);
  • Friday May 16 Middle School – U13 (2013) – U14+ (2012, 2011, 2010, 2009);
  • Monday May 19 North Mesa – U11 (2015) – U12 (2014); and
  • Wednesday May 21 North Mesa – U12 (2014) – U13 (2013) – U14+ (2012, 2011, 2010, 2009).

US Kids Golf Program Registration For Summer Is Open

Registration for the US Kids Golf Program’s Summer 2025 session is open for registration! This exciting program, designed for young golfers, will run from June 2 through June 25, providing an excellent opportunity for children ages 6 through 13 to develop their golf skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Sessions take place at the following times:

  • POD 1: 9:30-11 a.m., June 2, 9, 16, and 23
  • POD 2: 9:30–11 a.m., June 3, 10, 17, and 24
