NM Democratic Party Holds Jobs Forum

Chairman Sam Bregman has announced that the New Mexico Democratic Party will host a Jobs Forum 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16 at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Hall, 4921 Alexander Blvd. NE in Albuquerque.

A wide range of representatives will address the jobs crisis in New Mexico, including New Mexico House Speaker Ken Martinez and New Mexico State Senate Majority Leader Michael Sanchez.

Katie’s Law Results in New Mexico’s 500th DNA Match

SANTA FE ─ Jayann Sepich and Gov. Susana Martinez announced Monday that Katie’s Law has led to the 500th match of DNA data to a criminal case in New Mexico. 

The match came as the DNA  Administrative Center, located in Albuquerque, compiled their final statistics for the month of August.

The Administrative Center notified Jayann Sepich of the milestone Friday, which was also the 10th Anniversary of her daughter Katie Sepich being laid to rest.

We enjoyed a beautiful long weekend camping at Heron Lake State Park, a two hour drive north of Los Alamos. Heron Lake has water!

The Park Ranger reports the water level has risen several inches in the past two weeks when they ceased releasing water from the Heron Lake dam into the Chama River flowing into El Vado lake.

Nearly 9,000 NM Homes to Gain Broadband Access

ALBUQUERQUE ─ Monday, U.S. Sen. Tom Udall applauded the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) allocation of $5.18 million from the Connect America Fund (CAF) to expand and improve broadband service to nearly 9,000 New Mexico households.
