SFCC Foundation Hosts National Star Party Event Oct. 19

SANTA FE — Santa Fe Community College Foundation announces that it will host a National Star Party event 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, in the SFCC Planetarium (Room 215).

The event is a fundraiser to support SFCC’s Planetarium. Those who attend will view an exclusive livestream presentation from the Adler Planetarium in Chicago, Ill. WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Oct. 1, 2024, the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) verified completion of the First Production Unit (FPU) of a plutonium pit for the W87-1 Modification Program. A plutonium pit is a necessary component in America’s nuclear warheads.

NNSA is currently rebuilding the capability to manufacture plutonium pits, at the rate of no fewer than 80 pits per year.
