County Non-essential Facilities On Delayed Opening

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Manager Steven Lynne has ordered a two-hour delay for all non-essential county government facilities today, Jan. 17, due to hazardous weather conditions.

County crews are working to clear major roads and streets according to the FY23 Snow and Ice Control Plan

Atomic City Transit On 2-Hour Delay Due To Weather

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County’s Atomic City Transit regular scheduled bus service and para transit will operate on a 2-hour delay today, Jan. 17 due to weather conditions. 

Service will begin at 7:55 a.m. today.

Route 3 regular route, 2, 1 & 6 Peak Services will remain suspended until further notice due to staffing shortage.

Kelly Cable To Conduct Road Work At White Rock Smith’s

COMMUNITY News:

Kelly Cable NM LLC is scheduled to conduct road work to install new futurepath and fiber to Smith’s on Sherwood Boulevard and Longview Drive in White Rock. 

Work will take place 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Jan. 18 through Feb. 3 and a crew will notify the surrounding businesses of sidewalk closures and detours. Read More

County: Sidewalk Closure At Northwest Corner Of Diamond And Sandia Drive Tuesday Jan. 17

COUNTY News:

Tuesday, Jan. 17 weather permitting, Los Alamos County Traffic and Streets crews will be closing the sidewalk at the northwest corner of Diamond Drive at Sandia Drive.

Southbound Diamond Drive pedestrian traffic will be detoured to the East side of Diamond Drive at the intersection of Sandia Drive and Diamond Drive.

Eastbound Sandia Drive pedestrian traffic will be detoured to the Southwest corner of Sandia Drive at Diamond Drive

Blue Bus 255 Mountain Trail Route Begins Winter Service

RTD News:

The RTD Blue Bus 255 Mountain Trail Route will begin operating on a modified Winter Service schedule Tuesday, Jan. 17.

Due to a shortage of bus transit operators, the service has been operating on its non-winter schedule and will do so through Monday, Jan. 16.

The modified winter schedule will provide three roundtrips, seven days a week. Times will be adjusted to begin earlier and end later and provide a midday option.

Los Alamos Public Schools Transportation Department Announces Adjustments To Bus Routes

With the return of students to school following the winter break, the Los Alamos Public Schools (LAPS) Transportation Department reminds drivers to stop when the lights are flashing, and the stop arm is out to ensure the safety of students who ride the school bus.

Drivers also should never pass a bus that is stopped with the red lights flashing and the stop arm out.

NCRTD Announces Martin Luther King Jr. Day Closure

NCRTD News:

The North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) has announced the RTD Blue Buses will not be in service Monday, Jan. 16, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The exception will be the RTD 255 Mountain Trail route to the Santa Fe National Forest, which will be operating on its nonwinter schedule through Jan. 16. Read More
