Traffic Alert UPDATE: Vehicle Accident With Injuries – One Lane Now Open On Diamond Drive Along Golf Course – Continue To Avoid Area If Possible

LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department reports that one lane is now open on Diamond Drive following a two-vehicle accident with injuries on Diamond and Club Road.

Police had closed Diamond Drive to traffic along this area to allow first responders to attend to the injured.

Police continue to ask motorists to avoid this area if at all possible.

County Manager Announces Additional Delayed Openings

COUNTY News:

Due to hazardous weather conditions, the Los Alamos Visitor Center will open at 11 a.m. and the White Rock Visitor Center will open at noon today. 

Also, the Los Alamos County Ice Rink will have a delayed opening, however, the time that it will be able to open is currently unknown.

Interested individuals can watch the Los Alamos County Community Services Facebook page for updates or call the Ice Rink at  505.662.4500.

While the Senior Center is opening at 10 a.m., lunch will be served at its regularly scheduled time.

Los Alamos County Manager Announces Delayed Opening For Non-Essential Facilities

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Manager Steven Lynne has ordered a two-hour delay for all non-essential County government facilities this morning, due to hazardous weather conditions.

County crews will continue to clear the major roads and streets according to the FY22 Snow and Ice Control Plan

The Aquatic Center is scheduled to open at 7 a.m. today.

Residential and commercial trash will be collected as scheduled, however, the Eco Station will open at 10 a.m. today.

Los Alamos Public Schools On Two-Hour Delay

LAPS News:

The Los Alamos Public Schools is on a two-hour delay today, Feb. 17.

All schools will start 2 hours late and buses will arrive at their stops 2 hours late.

Children should dress warmly. Before school programs are canceled today.

Ascent Aviation Breaks Ground In Roswell … Facility Will Serve As Major Hub For Airline Industry

ROSWELL – Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham joined executives from Ascent Aviation and local and state officials on Saturday to break ground on a new Roswell facility that will serve as a major hub for airline maintenance and repair.
