Repaving Project On NM 466 / St. Michael’s Drive June 1-9

Traffic will be reduced to one lane in a single direction

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Transportation would like the traveling public to be aware of roadwork impacting traffic on N.M. 466 / St. Michael’s Drive beginning June 1 through June 9.

One lane will be closed in a single direction, starting at St. Francis Drive and continuing to Quail Run Drive.

As a lane is completed, it will be reopened and another will be closed for repaving.

Access to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center and local business will be provided.

Traffic Alert: Road Work 15th At Myrtle Saturday & Monday

Traffic Alert:

Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities water crews will repair the west side of 15th Street at Myrtle after replacing a waterline a couple of weeks ago. 

For two days, Saturday May 30 and Monday June 1, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., 15 St, will be reduced to one lane with a flagging operation to maintain north and southbound traffic. 

DPU officials advise motorists to expect delays and observe the speed limit and traffic control devices in the area.

Traffic Alert: Water Line Break At 34th North Of Villa

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Department of Public Utilities water crews are responding to a water line break at 9:30 a.m. today on 34th Street north of Villa.

The road is closed at the repair site and traffic is detoured on to 33rd Street.

DPU customers on 34th Street may experience low water pressure. 

Depending on the severity of the break, water services to these customer may need to be terminated.  The estimated time of repairs is 4 p.m. today.

Traffic Alert: Road Work At Trinity & DP Road Begins Monday

Traffic Alert:

Star Paving announced today that flagging operations will occur Monday, June 1 and Tuesday, June 2 at the intersection of DP Road and Trinity Drive.

The operations are necessary for the removal of existing asphalt as part of the New Mexico Department of Transportation’s N.M. 502 roundabout construction project.

Motorists should anticipate delays in this area.

In addition, Trinity Drive will be closed at DP Road beginning Wednesday, June 3, to allow for construction of portions of the roundabout.

Traffic Alert:

Los Alamos County Department of Public Utilities water crews responded to a water line break at 4:30 p.m. today at the intersection of Villa and 33rd Street in front of Aspen Elementary School.

The intersection is closed and traffic is being detoured on to 34th Street and to Walnut. 

DPU customers east of 34th Street may experience low water pressure.

Depending on the severity of the break, water services to these customer may need to be terminated.

SFNF Issues Closure Order For Forest Road 10

SFNF News:

SANTA FE — The Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) has issued a closure order for an 11-mile segment of Forest Road (FR) 10 to protect public health and safety while crews replace 24 culverts and resurface the road. 

The closure order will be in effect until July 31 unless it is rescinded earlier.

The restricted area on FR 10 begins at the gate adjacent to the Paliza Group Campground and extends north approximately 11 miles to the gate at the boundary of the Sierra Los Pinos subdivision.

Traffic Alert: Utility Work On DP Road Tuesday Night

COUNTY News:

Paul Parker Construction, under contract to the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities, will trench across DP Road at 6th Street Tuesday night, May 26.

Crews will begin the project to install a sewer line at 7 p.m. with work completed by early Wednesday morning, May 27.

While traffic control devices will be in place to limit vehicles on DP Road, emergency access to and from DP Road will be maintained.

No termination of utility services is anticipated.
