YMCA News:
Registration opens today for YMCA Little Youth Basketball for grades K-1st for the YMCA’s developmental co-ed Little Youth Basketball program. Practices and games are two times per week in Los Alamos or White Rock March 6 through April 19.
Players, coaches and team parents are needed.
This program provides an introduction to basketball for girls and boys. Mini-sized balls will be used on 8’ baskets to allow players to learn proper shooting technique.

SANTA FE — The House Education Committee voted 11 to 2 Wednesday to approve House Bill 147. This legislation sponsored by Rep. Jim Smith (R-Sandia Park) will bolster New Mexico’s lottery scholarship program.
HB 147 gives the New Mexico Lottery Authority (NMLA) the freedom to encourage sales through larger prize payouts by removing the requirement that the NMLA transfer 30 percent of its gross revenues to the tuition fund.
It protects students by establishing a $38 million floor for the tuition fund annually. This floor sets a mandatory minimum amount; if NMLA ever

JOHN RICHARD LILLEY, SR. John Richard Lilley, Sr. died suddenly at home on January 24th, 2018.
He was born in Fall River, MA in 1934. In 1946, he moved with his family to Southern California, eventually landing in the San Diego area, where he graduated from Point Loma High School.
After receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from University of California, Berkeley, he moved in 1956 to Richmond, WA to work at Hanford. While there, he met and married Doris Wherry in 1957, with whom he had two children, John Jr. and Sherre. He also received his Master’s Degree in Physics
