NCRTD To Modify Eldorado, Edgewood And Turquiose Trail Routes With Reduced Services

NCRTD News:
 
Beginning Monday, Jan. 25, the North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) will be eliminating the midday service between Santa Fe, and Eldorado and Edgewood.
 
Additionally, the Wednesday extension of the Turquoise Trail route from Madrid to Golden will be eliminated beginning Wednesday, Jan. 27.
 
In March, the NCRTD began providing a “midday” transit option between Santa Fe, and Eldorado and Edgewood, Monday through Friday on a six-month trial basis. Due to low ridership, the midday option will be eliminated.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — 8.7 percent of all income in New Mexico went toward state and local taxes (in FY 2012), according to the annual State-Local Tax Burden Rankings released this morning by the nonpartisan Tax Foundation.
 
The report highlights the state-local tax burden on taxpayers in each of the 50 states, details how much residents pay to their state and other states, and illustrates tax burden trends over time and within each state.

First, thank you to the county and ACT for a wonderful service. Our family has used the buses for many years. 
 
For years, the ACT bus has been a great alternative for our children to get between the Middle School, High School and White Rock at times other than the standard school bus route times. Our family has used the buses extensively for before school and after school activities at the schools that are NOT served by the public school’s regular bus schedule.

Lawmaker Pre-files Resolution To Clean Up Unethical Public Officials And Employees

SANTA FE  Last week, Rep. Jim Dines pre-filed House Joint Resolution 5 that would give New Mexico voters the option on the next ballot to create an independent ethics commission in an effort to crack down on unethical public officials and employees of the legislative and executive branches of government.
 
The joint resolution would call for an amendment to the New Mexico Constitution which would have to be voted on and passed by New Mexicans.
