The Chamisa Elementary Recycle Art Fair was a hit! Students and families enjoyed and participated in “make & take” art activities using recycled materials.
 
Renee Mitsunaga, Chamisa’s art teacher, focused on art projects using newspaper, jigsaw puzzles, old t-shirts, CDs, and more.
 
These projects are still on display in the hallways of Chamisa, if you would like to see them. The fashion show was organized by Andrea Lynch.

PITTSBURGH, PA  The United States Drug Enforcement Administration announced Pittsburgh as the pilot city for a comprehensive law enforcement and prevention “360 Strategy” to help cities dealing with a heroin and prescription drug abuse epidemic, and its associated violent crime.

Udall, Heinrich Welcome Passage Of Funding For NM Veterans And Construction At Military Bases

WASHINGTON U.S. Sen. Tom Udall, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, and Martin Heinrich, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, joined the Senate Nov. 10 in voting 93-0 for critical funding for New Mexico’s veterans and military construction projects.
 
The Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Fiscal Year 2016 Appropriations bill funds the Department of Veterans Affairs and construction at military bases in New Mexico and across the country.

The Los Alamos Faith & Science Forum is holding a winter series on the topic “What Makes Us Human?,” continuing Nov. 17.
