DOE Awards $42.4 Million Contract To Portage, Inc.

CINCINNATI – The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced that Portage, Inc., the incumbent contractor, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, has been awarded a $42.4 million contract to provide technical support services to the DOE Carlsbad Field Office (CBFO) in all program areas.
 
The contract includes a three-year base period of performance with one two-year option period. This contract includes the option to issue both Time-and-Materials (T&M) and Fixed-Price task orders.
 
Services to be provided by the contractor include:

White Rock Senior Center Offers Wood Carving Class

The White Rock Senior Center is offering Wood Carving Instruction for Beginners – concentrating on the whittler starting Dec. 7.
 
There are three levels of wood carving. If the product would sell for less than $25, that is a whittler. If the product would sell for $25 to $100, that is a carver. If the product would sell for more than $100, that is a sculptor.

Brian Kent, tired of hearing people say that they couldn’t take road trips in their Leaf all-electric vehicles, decided to drive his Leaf cross country, visiting every state capital, and even planting trees in every state to offset the small amount of carbon required to generate electricity for the vehicle.

Los Alamos Atomic Tumblers opened their season this past weekend with a meet in Santa Fe.
 
High scorer of the day was Chantel Biebeault with 37.60. She took first place in the silver junior division. Second place went to Anika Lovato with 35.50 and third was Deeanna Foster with 34.085.
 
In the silver children’s division, Danielle Trellue took first with 35.55, Colette Biebeault was second with 34.95, and third place was Alexandra Simakov with 31.70.

Chocolate abounded Saturday night at the 10th annual Festival of Chocolate.
 
The event formally kicks off a week-long celebration of the Festival of Trees at the Betty Ehart Senior Center.  The big event is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday and donations of school lunch or snack items is requested for entry.
