RICHARD H. (DICK) ROCHESTER Jan. 25, 1931 – June 20, 2021

Devoted husband and proud father.

Predeceased by one son.

Survived by his wife of 60 years, four children, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Smoke From Rincon Fire Visible In Los Alamos

A plume of smoke from the Rincon Fire is visible today from NM 502 in Los Alamos. According to Julie Anne Overton, the public affairs officer for the Santa Fe National Forest, the wildfire was ignited today and officials are out right now assessing the fire. Car Goes Over Wall On Diamond, Driver Has Minor Injuries

Los Alamos police officers responded to the scene of an accident around 3 p.m. today in which a vehicle careened over a wall at Diamond Drive and 38th Street. LAPD told the Los Alamos Daily Post that the driver, a female in her late teens or early 20s, was the only occupant in the vehicle. She appeared to have had a medical episode that caused the accident, police said, adding that she was transported with minor injuries to Los Alamos Medical Center by LAFD’s EMS personnel. Shop LAAC’s Virtual Arts & Crafts Fair For Mothers Day Gifts

LAAC News:

The Los Alamos Arts Council (LAAC) cancelled the annual in-person May 1 Arts and Crafts Fair due to the public health restrictions by the New Mexico Governor’s Office.

To support vendors who would appear in the fair, and to continue to provide a shopping experience for the Los Alamos community, LAAC has created a Virtual Craft Fair. Patrons who visit the LAAC website https://losalamosartscouncil.org/may-2021-virtual-arts-and-crafts-fair/ can see a list of the craft fair vendors. The website will be up through May 31.

To celebrate the lovely weather Saturday, about 20 runners and 80 walkers and 90 or so dogs turned out for the 2021 Los Alamos Dog Jog. 

This was a COVID-safe event with masks and social distancing, participants and their pets had a good time being outside and socializing.
