Still Time To Register For Los Alamos Elks Lodge Annual Charity Golf Tournament

Los Alamos Elks Lodge News:

There’s still time to register for the annual Los Alamos Elks Lodge #2083 Charity Golf Tournament. This year’s tournament will be held on Friday, June 12 at the Los Alamos Golf Course. Golf will start at 9 a.m., followed by a luncheon and other festivities at the Elks Lodge, 1601 Trinity Drive.

Player registration is $130/player or $520/team and includes entry into golf scramble, greens fees, golf cart and lunch.

Pinon Park Pool In White Rock Closed Until Further Notice

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos County Aquatic Division is sad to announce that the Pinon Park Pool will be closed until further notice, due to a lack of hot water for showers, which is a state requirement for the facility.

Staff would like to encourage patrons to visit the Leisure Lagoon from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today, Saturday, May 30 at the Aquatic Center.

County: Construction To Begin June 1 On Phase 3 Of Jemez Mountain Fire Protection Project

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County has announced that construction will begin Monday, June 1, on Phase 3 of the Jemez Mountain Fire Protection Project (JMFPP).

This final phase will involve heavy machinery moving large equipment for the construction of four water booster stations.

The County asks motorists to avoid using Camp May Road from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Jeffrey Dale Parkinson, 62, passed away from heart failure on May 16, 2026, in Neiva, Huila, Colombia.  He was born on May 22, 1963, in Los Alamos, New Mexico, to Joseph Lynn and Bonnie Joy Parkinson.

Growing up in Los Alamos, Jeff developed a lifelong passion for the outdoors. He spent countless hours backpacking, hunting, and fishing, creating cherished memories with his father and brothers. A proud Hilltopper, he graduated from Los Alamos High School in 1981.
