County: Draft Climate Action Plan Goes To Council July 9
Los Alamos County’s consultant, Cascadia Consulting Group, will present a draft Climate Action Plan (CAP) to the County Council at the upcoming council meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 9 in the Council Chambers.
Interested individuals are encouraged to attend this meeting in person at 1000 Central Ave., Council Chambers or via Zoom.
Following the presentation, the draft plan will be made available for public review and comment at https://losalamoscap.konveio.com from July 9 through 11:59 p.m. Aug. 9.

Los Alamos Natural Gas Rate Hike Heads To County Council

With approval from the Los Alamos Board of Public Utilities (BPU), a potential natural gas rate increase in now headed to the Los Alamos County Council. The introduction of the ordinance is scheduled for the Tuesday, July 9 meeting, and a public hearing will be held at the Tuesday, July 30 Council meeting.

Los Alamos County Code Compliance reminds residents of their reporting process with the summer season and upcoming Fourth of July celebrations. The Code Compliance team enforces the Building Code (Chapter 10), Development Code (Chapter 16), and Nuisance Code (Chapter 18), except where designated to the County Engineer or another official.
From Jan. 1 to June 27, 2024, Code Compliance staff addressed 71 complaint-based cases, including 47 anonymous complaints.

Several concerned community members attended the Art in Public Places Advisory Board (APPAB) meeting Thursday night to support the County’s acquisition of The Boys of the Pajarito Plateau, a painting by renowned artist Jeff Segler depicting three young men on horseback during the Los Alamos Ranch School (LARSO) era.

Los Alamos County Customer Care Center (CCC) staff learned of scam text messages and phone calls that have been going out today. The sender/caller phone number ID on the messages is that of the CCC—(505) 662-8333—however the calls are not originating from that phone number.
