Atomic City Transit: Regular Transit Service Will Not Operate July 4 But Will Provide Free Shuttle To Overlook Park

Atomic City Transit regular scheduled bus service will not operate Tuesday, July 4, 2023, in observance of the holiday.

Atomic City Transit will provide free shuttle service for the Los Alamos Fourth of July event at Overlook Park in White Rock.

Shuttle service will begin at 3 p.m. from Diamond Drive & Canyon Road in Los Alamos and the White Rock Visitor Center on N.M. 4 and Piñon Elementary School parking lot on Grand Canyon Drive in White Rock.

Los Alamos County announces the long awaited ribbon cutting ceremony for the Leisure Lagoon.

The public is invited to join in celebrating this achievement,  11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Wednesday, July 5 at the Walkup Aquatic Center, 2760 Canyon Road.

DPU & Customer Care To Be Closed For Two Hours June 29

DPU News:

The lobby-facing windows at the Los Alamos County Customer Care Center in the Municipal Building as well as the Department of Public Utilities (DPU) suite will be closed from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 29, while staff attends an annual employee picnic.

The Customer Care Center and DPU are typically open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. Staff will respond to voice mail and email messages when they return to the office. Those customers who prefer to interact with staff in person are asked to do so outside of that two-hour window.

Overgrown vegetation and erosion have made their mark on Los Alamos County-owned trails. In response, the County, its contractors and volunteers are pitching in to spruce up and improve the local trails.
