COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Environmental Services and the Environmental Sustainability Board invites the community to participate Saturday, April 29 in the 20-Year Anniversary of Clean Up Los Alamos Day.

Volunteers are encouraged to pick a location around the community to clean and make it beautiful. Locations can range from a favorite park, walking trail or around the neighborhood.

Notice: County Clerk’s Office To Close 1-5 PM April 7

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos County Clerk’s Office will close at 1 p.m. Friday, April 7 in recognition of Seasonal Observances.

The Clerk’s Office would like to take the time to appreciate staff, giving them the opportunity to spend well deserved time with their families. The office will reopen to serve the public’s needs at 8 a.m. Monday, April 10.

County Makes CIP Survey Results Available Online

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County held two town halls in February to update the community on existing capital improvement projects (CIP). Feedback was then requested on 10 potential new capital projects. A survey was open for public participation Feb. 21 through March 9, with 424 individuals participating.

Results are now available on the County’s website.

County: Road & Utility Improvements Construction To Begin March 27 On 33rd-34th Streets And Arkansas Avenue

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Public Works Department has contracted with TLC Plumbing and Utilities to begin a major utility, storm drain and road improvements project on the 33rd/34th Street loop in the Aspen School neighborhood, and Arkansas Avenue between Diamond Drive and 41st Street in the North Community.

This information also was presented in January at the Public Meeting conducted during the regularly scheduled Transportation Board Meeting.

County Parks And Open Space Division Seeks Volunteers For Pueblo Canyon Overlook Cleanup On Earth Day April 22

The Los Alamos County Parks and Open Space Division is holding a Pueblo Canyon (Anderson) Overlook Cleanup on Earth Day, April 22.

This project will focus on cleaning up trash that has been accumulating underneath the Pueblo Canyon Overlook along N.M. 502 for years. Volunteers also may choose to help maintain the Tent Rocks Trail where water drains and a rock bridge is to be built.

Utility Survey Reveals Successes And Room For Improvement

In a recent survey of Los Alamos utility customers, the Department of Public Utilities (DPU) saw increased ratings for customer service attributes and opportunities for improvement in other areas.

The DPU’s second annual Voice of the Customer survey was conducted by Great Blue Research for five weeks beginning in early January to gauge customer satisfaction, awareness and preferences relating to the utility services provided by the DPU. County Seeks To Fill Board Of Public Utilities Vacancy

Los Alamos, New Mexico— Los Alamos County is accepting applications to fill one position on the Board of Public Utilities (BPU).

Comprising five voting members, the BPU governs the Department of Public Utilities (DPU), a County-owned utility that provides Los Alamos with electric, water, natural gas and wastewater services. Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. Thursday, April 27.
