Los Alamos Creative District News:
Los Alamos MainStreet and the Creative District are hosting the Holiday Lights Parade 6-7:30 p.m. Saturday along Central Avenue, from the roundabout to Oppenheimer Drive.
The Los Alamos County Traffic & Streets Division will close this section of the road to all vehicles beginning at 4 p.m. Saturday.
Parade organizers ask the public to avoid parking along Central Avenue during this time.

County Reminder: First Half Of Property Taxes Due Dec. 10
COUNTY News:
Los Alamos County property owners should have received their property tax bills for 2021 from Los Alamos County’s Finance Department in November.
The first half of property taxes is due Friday, Dec. 10 to avoid late payment penalty and interest charges.
It is the responsibility of the property owner to ensure property taxes are paid. If someone else is to pay on your behalf, you will need to contact them directly regarding this matter.

- In person. Property owners can remit payment in person at the Customer Care Center located in the lobby of the Municipal Building,
New Mexico COVID-19 Update Dec. 1: 1,887 New Cases, Totaling 316,089 With 12 New Deaths And 267,604 Recovered
STATE News:
SANTA FE — New Mexico state health officials Monday announced 1,887 additional COVID-19 cases today.
Los Alamos County reports 5 new cases today, bringing the total to 917 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)
This update includes 12 new deaths today in New Mexico related to COVID-19.
Per the state Department of Health, the most recent cases are:
- 583 new cases in Bernalillo County
- 3 new cases in Catron County
- 68 new cases in Chaves County

County COVID Update: Pfizer Vaccine Clinic Sunday Dec. 12
COUNTY News:
Los Alamos County, New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) and Trinity Urgent Care will hold a vaccine clinic to administer the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, either a first, second or booster dose for individuals 18 years or older.
The clinic is 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12 at the Auxiliary Gym at Los Alamos High School.
Appointments are preferred, but county officials indicate that walk-ins will be accepted provided there is sufficient vaccine supply.

Los Alamos citizens will have three opportunities to learn about the condition and schedule for the Women’s Army Corp (WAC) Dormitory improvement project.
The Los Alamos County Public Works Department and its Design Consultant are holding virtual meetings next week to present the project and to solicit feedback from meeting participants on the proposed upgrades, future uses and how the project might impact the neighborhood.

Customer Care And DPU Closed During Lunch Hour Friday

Officials with the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities advise that its office, including the Customer Care Center, at 1000 Central Ave., Suite 130, will close during the lunch hour Friday, Dec. 3.
To celebrate the holidays, the department is holding a drive-through appreciation luncheon 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for its employees.
