SANTA FE — New Mexico state health officials announced 1,409 new COVID-19 cases today and a 7-Day positivity rate of 12.2 percent.
Los Alamos County reports 7 new cases today bringing the total to 901 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)
This update includes 21 new deaths today in New Mexico related to COVID-19.
Per the state Department of Health, the most recent cases are:
- 420 new cases in Bernalillo County
- 40 new cases in Chaves County

While the State of New Mexico continues to see new COVID-19 cases daily, Los Alamos County Emergency Management Office reminds the community to celebrate the holidays safely.
“Vaccinations rates in Los Alamos are high, however, Los Alamos is not immune to breakthrough cases,” Emergency Manager Beverley Simpson said. “We should all practice due diligence to ensure that we keep family and friends safe.”
Simpson recommends the following to reduce transmission as individuals gather to celebrate Thanksgiving:

County Seeks Public Input On WAC Building Improvements

Los Alamos citizens will have three opportunities to learn about the condition and schedule for the Women’s Army Corp (WAC) Dormitory improvement project.
The Los Alamos County Public Works Department and its Design Consultant are holding virtual meetings next week to present the project and to solicit feedback from meeting participants on the proposed upgrades, future uses and how the project might impact the neighborhood.
The virtual meetings are scheduled as follows:

Utility Bill Delay For Some White Rock Customers

Approximately 2,300 bills for Cycles 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14 dated Nov. 11 were not mailed to customers until Nov. 17.
Los Alamos Department of Public Utility officials explain the error was discovered Tuesday, Nov. 16 and were immediately sent to an offsite bill printer.
