Los Alamos County offices and facilities are experiencing a network and internet outage across the entire County.

It has been confirmed that the cause is a Lumen/CenturyLink issue. 

An estimated time when service will be restored is not yet known.

Power Restored To All Affected Customers On North Mesa

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities electric crews were able to isolate the problem causing the power outage on North Mesa this evening and have completed the repairs.

As of 8 p.m. power has been restored to customers in all affected properties on Kristi Lane, Cooper Place, Mountain View Place, Estates Drive and La Mesa Circle on North Mesa.

Update: County Responds To Power Outage On North Mesa

Update: Electric linemen with the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities have identified the cause of power outage. Crews will de-energize properties on Kristi Lane east of Broadview as of 6:20 p.m. in order to complete repairs. Estimated time to restore power to properties on Mountain View Place and Kristi Lane is around 9 P.m. today.

New Mexico COVID-19 Update Oct. 9-12: 2,433 New Cases, Totaling 261,370, 16 New Deaths, 231,884 Recovered

SANTA FE — State health officials announced 2,433 additional COVID-19 cases Saturday through today in New Mexico.

Los Alamos County reported 21 new cases Oct. 9-12, bringing the total to 743 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)

This update includes 16 new deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19.

Per the state Department of Health, the most recent cases are:

County: Recreation Improvements Meeting Underway!

COUNTY News:

A meeting regarding the golf course improvement project got underway at 5:30 p.m. today in the Los Alamos County Council Chambers and via Zoom.

This topic also is an agenda item for the Parks and Recreation Board (PRB) meeting 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14.

The golf course proposal includes an option of re-aligning additional holes, that may impact the area next to the trail behind holes 2 and 3. 

The Community Services Department and Golf Course staff encourage trail users to attend tonight’s and/or Thursday’s meetings to voice their opinions.

County Utility Bills And Winter Moratorium Requirements

COUNTY News:

Customer protections from utility disconnects during the heating season is afforded to those current on their utility bill or current on a payment plan as of Nov. 15, according to Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) Rule GR-13-06 C. (1) a.

Electricity for these qualifying DPU customers will not be turned off during the winter moratorium, specifically between Nov. 15 through March 15.

Council Quorum Notice: Kiwanis Sign Unveiling Oct. 18

Los Alamos County has issued a quorum notice stating that members of the Council may attend the Kiwanis Sign Unveiling at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18 at Main Gate Park.

Atomic City Transit Rte. 2M (Main Hill) Suspended Today

COUNTY News:

Atomic City Transit Route 2M (Main Hill) is suspended through the remainder of today due to a staffing shortage.

Riders should plan to use Route 2T (Truck Route), which will continue to operate its regular schedule 5:55 a.m. to 6:58 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Atomic City Transit apologizes for the inconvenience the Route 2M suspension may cause.
