Update From Resiliency, Energy & Sustainability Task Force
COUNTY News:
The Los Alamos Resiliency, Energy and Sustainability Task Force is now over halfway through its chartered time; it is scheduled to sunset in February.
The Task Force has submitted its Interim Report to the Los Alamos County Council with preliminary ideas for recommendations to reduce greenhouse gas emissions throughout the county (exclusive of LANL). Nothing has been finalized, and these interim recommendations are subject to change, modification, or elimination in the final report.

Los Alamos County and the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) will hold a vaccine clinic to administer a single Pfizer booster (third dose) for select populations who received the Pfizer vaccine as their primary series (first two doses).

Atomic City Transit Route 2M (Main Hill) Will Not Operate Oct. 8 Beginning At 11:30 A.M. And Resumes Regular Service Oct. 11

Atomic City Transit (ACT) will not operate Route 2M (Main Hill) beginning at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8 through the remainder of the day due to a staffing shortage.
Riders should plan to use Route 2T (Truck Route), which will continue to operate its regular schedule until 6:58 p.m.
Route 2M service will resume Monday, Oct. 11.

SANTA FE — State health officials announced 1,025 additional COVID-19 cases Thursday in New Mexico.
Los Alamos County reported 34 new cases Thursday, bringing the total to 720 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)
Per the state Department of Health, the most recent cases are:

Los Alamos County/LACDC Seek Public Feedback In Mobile Food Vending Survey

Want Food Trucks? Los Alamos County, in partnership with the Los Alamos Commerce & Development Corporation (LACDC), wants the community’s input about Food Trucks and Mobile Food Vending in the County.
Information gathered from this survey will be used to create a new Mobile Food Vending Ordinance.
The County’s goal with this new ordinance is to make it easier for vendors to provide a variety of food and/or beverage choices from trucks, bikes, push carts or other wheeled vehicles in a way that is safe and convenient for both vendors and the Los Alamos community.

LAPD Reminds Motorists And Pedestrians To Travel Safely Following Second Fatal Crash Of 2021
LAPD News:
The Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) investigated a fatal crash in White Rock on Sept. 20, involving a vehicle versus a pedestrian.
The pedestrian victim was a 56-year-old female resident of White Rock.
The Department’s patrol division and crash reconstruction team responded to the scene. The investigation was forwarded to the 1st Judicial District Attorney’s Office for review.
