2021 Los Alamos Summer Concert Series Presented By Toyota Of Santa Fe Announces May And June Virtual Shows

LAVA Community Support Event Goes Virtual
LAVA News:
In order to ensure that the community can safely show support for victims, the Los Alamos Police Department’s Victim Assistant (LAVA) National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) Community Support Walk will be a virtual event.
There will not be an in-person event.
At the Turquoise Level, an event can be held with a mass gathering limit of 150 persons, or 200 vehicles. The safest way to ensure that these limits are not exceeded is to provide t-shirts to individuals and individual families at a scheduled time and host a virtual event, rather than in-person.

SANTA FE – New Mexico Department of Health officials announced today 187 new COVID-19 cases.
Los Alamos County reports zero new cases today so the total remains 511 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)
Today’s update includes 10 new deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19.

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) announced today the updated statewide COVID-19 map for the two-week period beginning April 21.
Los Alamos remains one of 14 New Mexico counties at the Turquoise Level and three counties are at the Green Level, at which there are fewer restrictions on commercial and day-to-day activities amid decreased virus risk.
The majority of the state’s counties reached or remain at the least restrictive levels.

Utility Pole Testing In Los Alamos Resumes In May

After a four-month break during the winter, contractor Alamon will return to Los Alamos in May to finish testing the integrity and strength of wooden utility poles on behalf of the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities.
Based on its findings, preventative maintenance on a compromised utility pole may be undertaken immediately.
Specifically, crews will bore into wooden poles, check shavings and dig around the base looking for signs of rot. Poles demonstrating signs of weakness will be reinforced with braces to improve safety and extend the useful life.

The Los Alamos County Council tentatively approved 6-1 the proposed $18,203,873 Fiscal Year 2022 budget for the County Manager’s office during its Monday night budget hearing.
