Joan Logghe, Santa Fe’s Poet Laureate 2010-2012, will be teaching a Creative Writing class at UNM-LA. The class will meet 9-11:45 a.m. Fridays, Sept. 12 to Dec. 5.
Logghe encourages writers of all levels to take her class.

More Than $20K Raised For Jean Nereson Book Memorial Fund

The Los Alamos Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) has announced that in June, it surpassed its $20,000 goal for the Jean Nereson Book Memorial Fund.
This fund was established in memory of long-time branch member Jean Nereson, who died two years ago. The fund is administered by the Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation and will provide $1,000 each year for four years to each elementary school library in the district for new printed resources.

New Director of Interpretation Moves From Florida to Join PEEC Team

It wasn’t all that long ago that the Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) operated as an all volunteer organization.
Last fall three new part-time staff members joined the team, more than doubling the staff, and last month a sixth part-time staff member came on board. Jonathan Creel moved from his home in Florida to join PEEC as the director of interpretation, a newly created role.
