Beta Sigma Phi Hosts Ice Cream Social Saturday

The local council of Beta Sigma Phi sorority will hold its annual Ice Cream Social 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23 at East Park in Los Alamos, under the pavilion near the swings.
The Ice Cream Social is hosted by the Preceptor Beta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi and is open to all members and any prospective members. Come to the social to learn more about the sorority. Members are invited to come and renew friendships, as well as catch up with sorority sisters and their summer activities.

Atomic City Children’s Theater (ACCT), the Los Alamos Public Schools’ after-school theater program, is excited to announce auditions for its elementary school production of Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka Jr., a two-act musical play based on Dahl’s children’s book and full-length movie.

ALBUQUERQUE – Senate Majority Whip Tim Keller, D-Bernalillo, sent a letter last week to Public Education Department (PED) Secretary-Designate Hanna Skandera requesting audit results that pertain to the A-F school scoring and teacher evaluation scoring.

Los Alamos School Superintendent Gene Schmidt announced moments ago that the school district has posted a $1,000 reward for information leading to the identification of the person(s) responsible for the vandalism overnight to the Pinon Elementary School playground on Grand Canyon in White Rock.
